Meter and expose correctly for ambient light with a grey card or color checker.
Use dropper tool in Ps Camera Raw or Lr to sample the grey area of the color checker and make the color of the photo look neutral.
Take notes on the ambient K-value, camera exposure values, and post it under your blog photo.

Add one strobe or speedlight as your key light.
Meter and expose the subject's face correctly with your key light, having the model hold a grey card or color checker.

Add one strobe or speedlight as your key light, apply gel to match the ambient color temperature as close as you can.
Meter and expose the subject's face correctly with your gelled key light, and expose ambient light one stop under your key light.
